March 2006 Site Plans

1. Drawing of existing structures (1.05mb PDF)

This is a scale drawing based on measurements done by the architect, David Torrey.

The top portion of this drawing includes the front, side and back views of the current church building and religious education addition.

The bottom right portion of the drawing contains the floor plan for the lower level of the church building, including the vestry, kitchen and restrooms, and the attached religious education wing where the classrooms, offices and boiler room are located.

The bottom left portion of the drawing contains the upper level of the church building, including the sanctuary, vestibule and indoor stairs.

2. Drawing of existing site plan (280kb PDF)

This drawing represents the plot of land the church is on. The drawing is an estimate of the land dimensions based on measurements by the architect and aerial photographs of the site. True dimensions of the site will require a site survey. Drawn on this plan are the set back lines for building. A 40 foot set back from the road and a 20 foot set back from the adjacent property is required for any new construction. The current religious education wing is about 9 feet from the property line, but any new construction in the same footprint as the current building should be grandfathered in. This site plan affected David's choice in the design to avoid having our addition extend into the set back area of the property, except directly above the existing RE wing.

3. Proposed Phase I Plan (1.36mb PDF)

This drawing (with some modifications) will be reviewed with the members of the congregation over the next several weeks. It is an option that provides us with ground floor access to our new main entrance. Inside is a gracious open and airy lobby from which a set of stairs goes up to the sanctuary and another goes down to the vestry and RE wing. As you enter the lobby an elevator with two doors provides universal access to the three levels.

This design also gives us additional class spaces, and moves the minister's office upstairs, near the sanctuary. It is compatible with possible future growth, as we requested.

4. Proposed Phase II Option I (1.48mb PDF)

This drawing includes the thoughts we shared with the architect about our future growth. It is designed as an expansion of Option A. We will be showing it over the next few weeks to give everyone an opportunity to review the plans and comment.

5. Proposed Phase II Option II (1.61mb PDF)
