Junior Youth Group
Middle school is a busy time for youth. They've got plenty of homework and activities and they need time with friends. The Unitarian Church of Sharon offers a variety of unique programs for youth that are intended to promote the development of a sense of wholeness and purpose in life and to encourage youth to have fun together and support each other during this challenging time.
Junior Youth Group
What is it? A religious education class for youth, Sundays at 10:15.
Topic: Social justice
What about it?
What are our visions of a better world?
What problems does our world face?
What can we do to make the world a better place?
How can we work together toward a common vision?
Do something to make a difference!
What happened within us and around us -- when we took action in the world?
Teachers: Two teachers work with the youth each Sunday. Teaching team includes Glenn Rivard, Gare Reid, Suzi Peck, Rick Dumont, and Vicki Harchik.

Junior Youth Group Fellowship
What is it? An opportunity for middle school youth to gather for fun and fellowship and to take action in the larger world.
Participants help plan the group's activities, ranging from flashlight tag to ropes courses to bringing food to a soup kitchen.
When? The group meets once per month, often on a Friday evening. Information about upcoming activities is posted on the RE Bulletin Board in the vestry.
Youth advisors: Rick Dumont and Jon Slavin work alongside Youth Coordinator Sue Bollens.

OWL
What is it? OWL is a comprehensive sexuality education program.
OWL 7-8: Youth in grades 7 and 8 meet at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Canton Sunday evenings for 3 hour sessions. This program meets two to three times per month from November through early April.
Teachers: Stefani Langol and Janet Schmidt from our church. Larry Cotton and Charlie Earle from Canton. Two teachers work with the group each week.
OWL 5-6: Fifth and sixth graders meet at the Unitarian Church of Sharon for 1 hour sessions. Meets two to three times per month from January through March.
Teachers: Gare Reid and Beth Hoke.
Parent orientation: for each group will happen in November.
