Typical Sunday Service
Every service is unique, but they do have a common structure.
Each service's music, announcements, readings and other information for
the day is written in an Order of Service that is available when you enter.
Worship services begin at 10:15 a.m. preceded by musical selections. After
announcements, there are opening words, a hymn, and a lighting of our
chalice. The congregation then shares joys and concerns both children
and adults are free to speak if they choose to about both the sorrows
and the joys that are important to them. We typically then have a special
time for children in the service, after which children move downstairs
to religious education classes. The service then includes an offering
for the work of the church, hymns and readings, meditation and prayer,
and a sermon, often followed by dialogue.
The service ends at 11:15 a.m. and is followed by a coffee hour. Wear
whatever makes you comfortable, and know that you and your children don't
have to get dressed up to join us on Sunday.
If you have an idea for leading a service, or would like to suggest a
guest preacher, please talk to Rev.
Cayer or the
Worship Committee Chair.

Covenant (spoken in unison)
Love is the doctrine of this church,
The quest for truth is sacrament
and service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace,
To seek knowledge in freedom,
To serve humanity in fellowship
To the end that all souls shall grow into harmony with the divine,
Thus do we covenant together.
Joys and Concerns spoken by members and friends
"Wait and see, wait and see what a world there can be, if we share,
if we care you and me..."
Time for Children (afterward, children leave for religious education classes)
"Go now in peace, Go now in peace, May the spirit of love surround
you, everywhere, everywhere, you may go."
