It has been 5 long years of war and occupation in Iraq. Many of you, like me, have been praying and protesting this war, since before it began. We like to see ourselves as innocent. We like to see ourselves as fair, compassionate and kind. We like to see ourselves as freedom-loving and freedom-promoting. New E-mail List on Civil Liberties
Acting on interest in the new UUA General Assembly Civil Liberties Study Action issue and growing interest in civil liberties related to current definitions of patriotism and the apparent march of the U.S. government toward war, a group of UUs have started a new email listed, hosted on uua.org, on civil liberties issues. The list is managed by Neal McBurnett, Eric Fischer, and Jennifer Patton. McBurnett writes that civil liberties are "a core value for UUs, and we have a real opportunity to once again take a leadership role during this critical time in championing the inherent worth and dignity of every person, justice, equity, freedom, liberty, the right of conscience, and the democratic process in America."

To sign up, please click on this link: http://www.uua.org/mailman/listinfo/civilliberties. For questions about the list, contact Neal McBurnett.

UUsMiddleEast E-mail List
While many Internet mailing lists focus on the Israel/Palestine situation, few take a UU approach of encouraging respectful, two-sided discussion of this difficult issue.

If you're interested in hearing opposing viewpoints about the Middle East or if you have opinions you'd like to share, please join UUsMiddleEast. Those who join are expected to seek the truth and open themselves to the possibility of validity of other opinions. Subscribers should temper their fervor with good manners, acceptance, compassion, and respect; belief in the dignity of other subscribers; and the goals of peace, justice, and liberty for all. It's anticipated that these principles should help to achieve a uniquely cordial discussion in an atmosphere encouraging enlightenment and education for UUs and other like-minded individuals.

To subscribe to the UUsMiddleEast mailing list, click the link above or follow the instructions on the UUA website. Questions? Write to the list managers.

WorshipWeb
Visit WorshipWeb, a website offering a variety of worship resources online from the UUA.

You'll find words to open a service, meditations and prayers, information to help construct services, readings, closing words, and more. This is an ideal resource for lay and professional worship leaders alike.

Conceived in 1999, the project was implemented in late 2000 and 2001 through funding from the UUA's successful 1997 "Handing on the Future" capital fund campaign and is now offered to the UU public following an initial development and evaluation period. We gratefully acknowledge the assistance of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association and its members in the development of WorshipWeb.
