A public community reading of Frederick Douglass’s 1852 speech, “What, to the American Slave, Is Your Fourth of July”, followed by a panel discussion of its ongoing relevance here and now.

The event is scheduled for the bandstand at Memorial Park Beach; only in case of rain will it be held in our sanctuary.
