The UCS Museum Meetup Group gets together several times a year to visit a museum,
often with behind the scenes insights from a curator, and always with a feeling of community as we explore art, science, and cultural exhibits together.

Weather-Related Cancellations Call the church at 781.784.3652 and watch this space to learn whether services or other activities are canceled due to weather.
We regularly collect toothbrushes, travel-size soaps, shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, diapers (including adult sizes), etc., for the residents of Father Bill’s / MainSpring House. Special requests: adult-size shower shoes, combs, hair brushes and feminine care products.
Our December Brown Envelope Social Justice offerings will again support the five local food pantries in our surrounding communities of Foxboro, Walpole, Norwood, Canton and
Stoughton/Sharon. As has been our tradition for many years, the entire collection from our Christmas Eve services will be donated to the Father Bill’s/MainSpring House programs for the homeless in our area.
Postponed December Movie Night We are taking a break to allow for holiday celebrations. Movie Night will resume in January with a Family Movie Night. Standard Movie Nights will resume in February. Happy Holidays!
Not Just Another Coffeehouse Back by popular demand, on Sat., Dec. 15, at 7pm, we welcome the KC Moaners, whose jug band music sounds so sweet. The music is up-tempo and energetic, with deep roots in the early 20th century. $15 or what you can afford. Fair trade beverages and homemade desserts will be available for sale at intermission.
Dec 16 10 and 10:30 Mindfulness in Times of Challenge We will look at the Buddhist practice of Mindfulness meditation as a tool for surviving – and even thriving – in challenging times, whether the challenges we face are primarily personal or societal.
Solstice Service – Note Date and Time – Join us at 7pm on Friday, Dec. 21st, for our annual special musical service honoring the coming of the winter darkness. Our choir will lead us in a celebration of the winter solstice. Through music, readings and the play of dark and light, we will enter into the heart of this ancient earth-based spiritual passage. Open to all.
Dec 23 10:15 ONLY True Christmas At this intergenerational service, we will explore the “true” meaning of this holiday season. No religious education classes today.
Dec 24 5pm and 7pm Christmas Eve Each service will include the traditional candle lighting ritual. Christmas Eve in our historic meeting-house is a beautiful and, for many, an important moment in their holiday season.
Continuing our annual tradition, the entire collection from our Christmas Eve services
will be donated to the Father Bill’s/MainSpring House program for the homeless in our area.
Dec 30 10:30 New Year’s Music Service The service at Unity Church, 9 Main Street, North Easton, will include a variety of music, spoken word and poetry, and there will be opportunities to sing and participate in the service. Following the service, Unity will host a Coffee Hour where music may spill into our time for fellowship and community. (No services in Sharon today.)
Family Movie Night Come in your PJs, bring your blankets and stuffed pals and join us for food and games beginning at 5:30pm on Fri., Jan 11. Maybe get an airbrush tattoo or win a raffle. At 7, we will watch March of the Penguins. $5 suggested donation to cover food and other costs.
Movie Night Join us at 7pm on Friday, February 8, when we will watch Their Eyes Were Watching God”, an true adaptation of the Zora Neale Hurston novel, starring Halle Berry. The conversation is lively and the popcorn is free.
Let’s Laugh Today Join us on the second Saturday of each month from 11am-12pm. Bring water to drink and a donation (non-perishable food for the Sharon-Stoughton Food Pantry or travel-size toiletries for Father Bill’s / MainSpring House).
**PEANUT-FREE** Lunchmaking for MainSpring House All ages are welcome to help make the 100 peanut-free lunches we donate once each month. Remember to bring personal-size items like shampoo, soap, etc., to be delivered with the lunches. See special request notice for additional items.
Recycling Opportunity Do you have gift cards that can’t be reloaded or expired credit cards you’ve sliced up? Our Social Justice Committee has found a recycler who will accept them. Bring them to the Social Justice table on Sundays.
Meditation and Study Group NEW TIME We meet from 7pm – 8pm on Tuesdays, alternating personal seated meditation with other methods. Instruction is available and the group is always open to new participants.
Book Group meets in the library at 7pm on the first Wednesday of most months from September through June. You are welcome to join us, even if you haven’t finished reading the book. See details elsewhere in this scroll.
Shopping for Justice We purchase grocery cards at a discount and sell them at face value. The difference helps to fund our Social Justice work. Cards for Big Y, Shaw’s and Stop & Shop are available during coffee hour.
We support the Ilsa Marks Sharon-Stoughton Food Pantry year-round (and are among the few organizations that do so). The need has continued to grow. Please leave your donations of non-perishable food in the entryway.
Movie Night Join us at 7pm on the 2nd Friday of each month from September through June. Enjoy the movie, lively discussion and free popcorn.
Need a Gift? Depending on store policy, you may be able to use Shopping for Justice grocery cards to purchase other types of gifts cards (e.g., for restaurants, department or home improvement stores, or online music vendors), thus extending our Social Justice programs.
