Grades 5-6 Curriculum

Our curriculum focuses on the spiritual qualities youth need to cultivate to be effective seekers of justice.

Sing to the Power

Sing to the Power affirms our Unitarian Universalist heritage of confronting “powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love.” By cultivating the spiritual qualities that serve as the foundation of justice-making, participants experience their own power, and understand how it can help them to be leaders.

Revels:  The Birth of Jesus

Participants examine the story of the birth of Jesus as a tale of the return of the light. They create a shadow puppet presentation of the story to share with the congregation during the Revels worship service.  Look forward to adventures with cardboard, colored cellophane, tape, wire, and string as we wrestle with the deeper meanings of the story.

Revels lessons: Sunday mornings, November 3 – December 8

Revels rehearsal:  Sunday, December 8 during coffee hour

Revels final run through and worship service: Sunday, December 15, 9-11:30am
