Coming to Our Senses

20th century historian of religions Mircea Eliade noted, “there can be no religious experience without the intervention of the senses.” With help from a book called A History of Religion in 5 ½ Objects, today’s service will explore how religions from around the world engage the five senses. We will also focus on what Unitarian Universalism can offer us as far as embodied worship. Rev. Jolie will also be leading a book study of this book in March, so consider this a teaser (or, for those who can’t participate in the book study, a synopsis). Rev. Jolie preaching.
