Racism from a Grandmother’s Perspective

Preacher: Ellen Schoenfeld-Beeks and Heather Schoenfeld

Our summer services begin with a sharing by Ellen Schoenfeld Beeks and her daughter, Heather Schoenfeld, entitled “Racism from a Grandmother’s Perspective.” Heather is a sociologist of law who works at the intersection of politics, policy, race, and the law. Her research has focused on systems of criminal punishment and mass incarceration. She is Assistant Professor, Development and Social Policy, at Northwestern University.
